JOB SUMMARY Provides direction, planning, implementation, evaluation and consultation to ensure successful Performance Management, Patient Safety and Quality metrics across East region campuses of Backus Hospital and Windham Hospital. Lead staff skilled in assisting the organization in achieving success in mission critical initiatives through project management, process improvement, consultation, facilitation and collaboration within Perioperative Services as well as across the HHC system. Works collaboratively with members of the Perioperative Leadership team, Management teams and Medical Staff leadership. Priority work involves continuous improvement of key processes, policies and procedures in a collaborative manner with stakeholders across the organization aligned with the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of the organization. Work with HHC performance management departments on performance improvement curriculum and staff education. Involved with mentoring of Perioperative Service managers and staff regarding performance improvement, root cause analysis and implementation of LEAN methodology. Requires extensive knowledge, skills and expertise in change and performance management. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Education Bachelors of Science in Nursing Experience Five to seven years' experience in perioperative environment Licensure, Certification, Registration RN Required Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHC) within 12 months of hire. Preferred Requirements Education Masters in Nursing, or Education preferred Experience Two (2) years' experience in project management, research and evaluation of healthcare outcomes and three (3) to five (5) years of management/supervisory experience Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively and independently. Expertise in data collection and process improvement techniques. Proficient knowledge of information systems and external databases associated with accreditation and regulatory requirements for quality of care, treatment and service evaluation and public reporting. Knowledgeable of LEAN methodologies. Ability to facilitate collaboration between department and hospital disciplines involved in the monitoring and evaluation of quality improvement, patient safety processes. Demonstrates an expert knowledge of hospital policies and procedures, TJC Standards, CMS Conditions of Participation, CT State Health Department Guidelines and other applicable State and Federal Regulatory Guidelines.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
